More Shaping

I videoed our training this morning, this video is quite long & will not be of interest to most of you so that is my warning lol!
I actually made the video for Amanda,  I want her to see how Lync is doing so she can advise me what else I can do.....
I think I have made the right observations, so Amanda, once you watch it please give me some more pointers :)

Number One !!

The results came out yesterday for 2012 Agility.  It took that long for our Canadian Kennel Club to figure out a point system.

I looked them up as I am responsible for the web site for our Canadian Collie Club, and posting results is one of my jobs.

Imagine my surprise to find out that Kort came in first place!!! I never even thought it would be him, seriously never crossed my mind.   We are talking all Rough Collies in all of Canada that compete in Agility!!
I was so excited, I am still excited! I am guessing the 2013 results will be out shortly, we were only in one trial before I found out Kort had Spondylosis however, so I doubt our standing will hold.
Love you Kort!!! ♥

Lync

I thought it was time to write a post and introduce you to Lync's family....

His dad is Boy Wonder, he is from Flyway Farms in California, his registered name is GCh Flyway Farms Boom Boom Pow SH WCX

Lync's mom is Kona, she was bred at Blazingstar where I got Lync, and her registered name is,  Ch Blazingstar Brown Coneflower CD RA SHDCh WC

Lync also has a very famous Flatcoat is his pedigree, his grandfather , Jet,  Ch Vbos The Kentuckian.  In 2011 Jet won Best In Show at Crufts at the age of 9.5 years!! Jet passed away last year at the age of 11, which is wonderful for a Flatcoat!!

Here is a video of him winning Best In Show .....

Just Some Thoughts

My life has gone to the dogs, nothing new there I guess , it always has been , but man am I busy this year!

I have puppy classes on Wednesdays, Scenthurdle practise on Thursdays, at least I am no longer in Agility.
I am doing Deborah Jones online obedience class with Lync.

I am on the committees for the Obedience trial in June, the Regional Agility trial the following week in June, the Agility trial in July, and the Obedience trial in November.

I guess I do pretty well for someone who hates leaving the house lol!

Trick Workshop

Lync at 5 months
Yesterday morning I took Lync to Amanda's trick workshop.  It was alot of fun & we worked very hard teaching the beginning stages of various tricks.
You can see a video Amanda made of the workshop here, watch for Lync, you can see him in some of the clips working on a couple of things, one being to play the piano :)
I chose to teach Lync a bow, as well as play dead.  I will name them "ta da" for the bow, & "bang" for play dead.
Tricks keep the dogs mind engaged & working, it helps them to problem solve & think for themselves, in turn making them a more confident dog, that is not afraid to makes mistakes. All these things will be useful for Lync's career in performance events.

The Denise Fenzi courses started yesterday but I am going to begin them today, I was so tired yesterday, I came home & fell asleep in the chair & woke up at supper time!  I had mentioned before that I  have lost some stamina, working with Lync is fun but tiring for me.

I will eventually post videos of Lync's tricks when he has them mastered.
