Wow! It's been a minute! So much has happened since I last posted!
I'm so excited to report that on Monday August 3, 2026 Tarn finally passed his Working Certificate Test !!!! Just for comparison, Lync got his WC one week after he turned 1! He actually passed it twice as there were 2 tests on the same day. Tarn turned 5 yesterday. I had so many things to overcome with him. He wouldn't pick up a duck, then when he did he wouldn't hold it, he wouldn't deliver to hand, at first he wouldn't even come within 5 feet of me! Then he wouldn't hold a wet duck. Anyway!! we overcame it all and he passed! We have things to work on, such as his preference to run the bank rather then swim, but we'll get there!
Tarn also passed his Pre CD in April this year, his heeling was beautiful and I was so proud of him. Also at our National Specialty I entered him in Novice for his CD. Of the 4 trials entered he only passed once! Apparently he forgot how to heel while outside, or to come on a recall, such a brat! The day we passed we were High Score in Novice A with a 184 1/2. Hopefully he will remember how to heel when we trial indoors!
Ash is now 11 1/2 years old! His coat has all grown back and except for where Tarn has chewed it off, it's beautiful! Unfortunately he has alot of health problems. His elbows are extremely arthritic and he has some pretty bad allergies. He's on Metacam and Apoquel and is still a happy guy. Hopefully he'll be around for a few more years!! He's such a sweetheart, except for the barking! So much barking!
