What a difference 5 months can make!.....
Kort, October 2009......
Kort, March 2010......
I knew Kort's coat was in great shape but I didn't realize just how much length he had grown until I looked at the picture from last Oct.
Years ago I was told that my collies would never carry enough coat as I bathed them too much, but I didn't listen. I believe a healthy coat is a clean coat.
What do you think?

Kort looks great! You can see the lengthening of the darker part of his coat. As to bathing--well you know what I think--too many baths are not good--strip the coat and skin of their natural oils. And a raw fed dog has a health coat and doesn't smell anyway! But each to their own! :)
well, bathing & eating a great quality food doesn't seem to be hurting Kort's coat or skin! :)
I think one can overdo on the bathing, but as long as I'm conditioning too, a clean coat resists breakage more than a dirty one. One tip I received, and which I think really helped me, was to keep a spray bottle of distilled water in the fridge, and spray my Shelties 3 or 4 times a day, just mist them down, especially in the dry desert summers of southern AB. Good food helps, and of course, good genes. He looks great, Jo!

You look clean too!!!!!
He looks lovely! Plenty of length, but not so over-fluffed and trimmed that you can't see what's underneath! (And he still has an underline!
