Fun!

Well my little buddy Kort & I are finally entered in our first Open Obedience Trial in over a year!
I entered only 1 trial, on Sunday.  I have found out the hard way that Kort is a one trial a weekend guy, any more then that and he stresses.
I am confident in Kort, he has come a long way in this past year & I'm going in with a positive attitude as well.  This weekend will not be about passing, but about having a confident happy dog in the ring.  Oh, & remaining sitting for the long sit exercise would be a bonus!

I think traditional obedience can be so hard for collies and his behavior brings back so many memories. Sorry if I was relating in the wrong direction, ie, my problems with it and not yours and Kort's.

no worries, it is what it is & Kort has a say....I disagree about Collies not enjoying Obedience, we just have to take a softer much slower approach when training...
He enjoyed the novice work, no stress, he likes the jumping in Open, he is just not quite ready to go back in the ring & concentrate on me, this weekend was all about seeing if he was ready, I got my answer , so he was pulled.

I actually wasn't talking about training collies traditionally, as that's been old, old, old school for a long time. I think they do enjoy obedience, but I have found they are a breed who needs A LOT of rallying to not turn off and when they start turning off at the ring, it's, IMO, an uphill battle to keep them together over and over for trialing and getting more than titles.
