Bored
Going a bit crazy I have to admit!! The weather has turned cold again, which means I cant sit outside, right now I cant do anything with Ash as he isn't vaccinated fully. He is just a baby but I feel like he is bored. I cant train him 24 hours a day, I try to find things for him to do but I am running out of ideas.
Lync is being so greedy, every time Ash picks up a toy Lync grabs it out of his mouth, today I got so annoyed and frustrated I put every single toy away. There is nothing out for them to argue over, peace and quiet, but boredom for the dogs, so they are sleeping.
I was given the ok by my vet to walk Kort and Lync, which I do everyday, but it still doesn't seem to be enough for Lync. We have class tonight thankfully!
I leave Thursday for a dog show in Camrose. I am so excited to get out of the house and do something different !! Last year I went by myself , it was the Collie National, this year Amanda is coming with me, she is doing obedience with Pixel and Brit, hopefully I will be able to get over and watch.
I love obedience and will be glad to finish Lync's championship and concentrate on obedience only for awhile. Ash will be old enough to show on July 5 so it works out perfectly if Lync does finish this weekend, then I will only have to worry about showing Ash.
That's about it , not much more to talk about , my life is not very exciting right now .

Busy busy busy!
Having a new puppy sure cuts into your free time! It will be worth it in the end though and it only lasts for a few months so I don't mind!
Ash is so confident it amazes me, and athletic! he can bounce off the ground already! I don't encourage it of course as he could hurt himself, but he does it when he gets excited, like at meal times.
He is so smart, he knows, sit, down, back up, spin right, and we are beginning heel position.
He is also beautiful! I can hardly wait to start showing him!
Here is two videos of the first time he tried stairs, and he decided on his own it was time, nothing to do with me ....

Janet in the middle, top, with me, my brother and sister |
I think about my cousins often, what they would be like now, more kids maybe? We were close , the 3 of us, did alot of things together in the "good old days" To see a family member, laying in a coma, twice in a 5 year span was heartbreaking. I am not really sure how their family got through it, by the time Janet passed away her mom, my aunt had also passed away from Cancer. I remember my Uncle saying he was grateful she didn't have to see another child die.
Judy and Janet left behind 2 little girls, the same age. They were 4 I believe. They are grown women now, I keep in touch with them on Facebook, one is troubled, one is doing well. Judy left behind another son and daughter as well. I don't keep in touch with Jimmy , but Katie is a sweetheart and was only 16 when her mom Judy died. Katie is thriving and has a husband and 2 kids of her own now, we are still very close. I wish Judy and Janet where here to see their kids, have a life, I miss them , all the time.
Happy Birthday Janet xoxo

Quick Upddate
I sure don't have much time to blog right now! Having an 8 week old puppy in the house is very very time consuming, if he is not sleeping I am on alert watching the play between him and Lync ( Kort pretty much ignores him ), making sure he doesn't have to pee or poop, keeping him away from things he finds fascinating , like electric cords, or catching up on housework.
Ash is wonderful, he is very very confident, almost like a mini adult! I can't explain it, he is just mature beyond his 9 weeks of age!
I have began clicker training for different things, like sit, down, stand. He comes to his name when called as well. I have started platform work for stays and started the trick of spin to his right. It was so funny the other day when I waited to see if he could do it without the lure, he thought for a moment then turned, to his left !! hilarious as I had only lured to the right . At this age I only do the work of 10 treats, I put them in my pocket and once the 10 treats are gone we are done.
Kort and Lync are a bit bored right now, I am not walking them at all as I don't want to bring anything home to Ash who has yet to get his first vaccination. We have been spending alot of time outside in the yard doing things, thank goodness it has been mild out! I took out all the patio furniture yesterday so I had somewhere to sit.
I also took Lync to a herding instinct test yesterday, Ash got to come along and after Lync was done I held him up to see the sheep and he was pretty fascinated by them !
The test was a fundraiser so I thought I why not support it, Lync didn't pass but he tried really hard and wagged his way through the whole thing, very cute ! The evaluator commented that had he been on sheep a bit more he probably would have passed! That is most likely the Collie coming through. Flatcoats were actually bred with Collie's way back when to help give them the pretty heads they have today.
Love his solid black collar ! |

Coming home, Part 1 :)
Yesterday was an epic marathon. I woke up at 3 am , Diana, Ash & I left at 4 am for the airport as my plane was leaving at 6am.
The check in at the airport was stressful, Ash was whining so I was worried about him making it for 10 more hours! As I am checking in the cranky old man behind the desk says , he can't do that on the plane you know, referring to Ash's whining, such a jerk, would he also tell a mother to shut her baby up as it couldn't cry on the plane?
I was a mess, I couldn't find where I had put my passport, I didn't have my tickets as for some reason Diana's computer wouldn't print them, so the check in took forever. When I got upstairs to go through security, I was at a loss again as I had never brought a dog on a plane before. I had to be told to take him out and put his travel kennel through the scanner, I didn't know the carrier needed to be checked, people in the line up were pissed, it is true that Canadians are polite compared to the Americans. I have alot of American friends out there but I speak the truth, come through Canadian customs and see for yourself the difference in not only the people, but the employees. HUGE difference!!!
I walked through and I set off the alarm, turns out I had forgotten my cell phone in my back pocket. That bought me a trip off to the side where I had my hands rubbed with some white paper, I asked what he was doing and he said checking for explosives! I said the only explosives I was going to have was my puppy having diarrhea, at least he smiled . So I got through all that & then I went into the woman's washroom to see if Ash had to pee, I put puppy pee pads down but he wouldn't go so I put him back in his kennel. A nice couple gave me their bottle of water so I could give him a drink, they were probably Canadian lol Ash was still whining so I took him out and held him a bit in my arms, he liked that.
The flight was no problem, Ash was quiet and I was very happy, I sat beside a weird girl though, but that an other story
When I arrived in Phoenix I did the same thing, sat in the washroom with Ash for a bit, he enjoyed the cool floor and fell asleep. When he woke up I put him back in his carrier and headed to the other side of the building to exchange my American money back to Canadian, when I say other side of the building I really mean it, even with those walk things it still took me a good 20 minutes to get there, now remember I was also carrying Ash and another bag, so an extra 15 pound at least.
Headed back, about 10 minutes later I realized I had dropped my jacket, so back I went to get it , ugh, by now I was so hot and sweating, after getting back to my gate I went back to the restroom to try and get Ash to pee again, nope, he wasn't going. Then it was time to board, this time I was by the window so I had a bit more room, Ash whined a bit but was quiet for the entire 3.5 hr flight to Calgary, so happy with that!!
I was happy to be back in Canada , it was another long trek carrying Ash to get to Customs, first you go and give them your customs card that they gave me on the plane to fill out, from there they sent me to another place to show my passport , that was a huge long line , the entire passengers on my flight were there. After I got through that line I had to go to another line, no lie. There is where I claimed Ash, showing my health certificate etc. Then finally I was free to go get my luggage and leave!! I collected my van, found a spot off the road for Ash to pee on and we were off! Ash was amazing! He wasn't car sick at all and just a bit of whimpering, I stopped a couple of times and let him out, he peed right away, such a good boy!
I had to get Kort from Amanda's and Lync from Judy's before getting home, so it was a very very long day
I am positive this will be my last dog from the States, unless someone brings him for me, it's worth it now, but I don't ever want to do it myself again .
Will post about Ash tomorrow :)
4:45 am at the airport, I do not look my best lol |

Leaving Tomorrow!
Packing cleaning, packing , cleaning! Leaving in the morning for Calgary where I will board my plane for California!! soooooo excited now!
I called my mom, we are good, that takes a huge load off of me, we all want to please our moms. I love my mom so much and hate when we don't see eye to eye.
About to call my sister as well, she is pretty sick this time around with her chemo treatments. Soon she will loose all her hair as well, she will be most likely bald for her Wedding in May, I told her she should get a long blond wig!!
So this is my last post until I return at the end of the week! Hoping for good weather and an easy flight!
