Yesterday I got the exciting news that Lync's girlfriend Autumn is pregnant and has at least 5 or 6 puppies!  It was a group effort that we had over Christmas of all times! We are all very relieved that the breeding worked and we have all fingers crossed for a big healthy litter at the end of February!

Muck!

Here in Lethbridge we have been experiencing a Chinook the past couple of days . A Chinook is a warm wind that blows in over the mountains and pretty much melts everything.

The problem is it melts it so fast and everything become mud!  Ash likes to run circles in the yard while playing with Lync, I am worried he has destroyed any grass we had, hopefully I am wrong.
He also bring half the yard of muck in on his feet and legs, so not fun!

AKC Winter classic

Back from the AKC winter classic held at the beautiful Spruce Meadows.  Lync did very well, the first day we won the Breed with 3 Specials entered.  The next day we took Best of Opposite with 5 Specials entered and the 3rd day we took Select Dog with 5 specials entered again.  We ended up fulfilling the requirements of  the Grand Championship with 1  Breed win and 2 major wins.  We also came away with 7 points toward it as well!  so a great weekend for Lync.
Unfortunately Ash did not fair as well, he did come home with a Reserve Winners on one of the days however but no points.  Ash is still learning how to behave in the ring but by the 3rd day he had it pretty much figured out and was gaiting quite nicely for his handler.  He was happy in the ring and I was thrilled to death at just that, there is nothing worse then having to drag a dog around the ring.
Kort had a great time out at Amandas, she took a lot of great photos of him for me which I love!
I am not sure when we will be in our next show, Red Deer maybe, we will see.

Dog show

Leaving tomorrow for a Dog show in Calgary, I have Ash and Lync entered, looking forward to it!

Fitting in my real life

After 2 years of having all my days free it is quite difficult for me to figure out work and leaving for a dog show!
Next weekend I am traveling to Calgary for a 3 day show and a Collie specialty.  I work tomorrow, Sat, Sun, Mon, , Wed , am off Tuesday, and work Wed until 1.  I will bath Ash on Tuesday as he will take longer, then bath Lync on Wednesday after I get home,  I cant get into the show building on Thursday until 2 so I dont need to rush heading up there.  I can pick up any last minute things like water and gas when on my way.
Ash has been limping on and off for a few days now so I am hopeful it will clear up before the weekend.  If not I will have to pull him, I am so glad I decided to show Lync last minute!  I have stopped running him and Lync together, at least until after the weekend.
I am really looking forward to the Specialty!  Kort is staying with Amanda out at her new place in the country, he will love it out there!
Hopefully everything fall into place without too much trouble!

New Books

I used to be an avid reader, Stephen King being my favourite author, I would spend all my free time reading.  My favouirte King books are The Gunslinger Series, I actually called Kort his name after one of the characters in the book.
The last few years I have lost the urge to read, I am not sure why, perhaps it is the computer that attracts me more then sitting still with a book.  Recently a friend of mine, Dianne, posted how she was on the final book of a trilogy so I looked up the books and thought that they would interest me.  They are called The All Souls Trilogy and I am already half way through the first book which is The Book of Witches.  I am interested in reading the books , but I still don't find them as interesting as the Ann Rice Books beginning with The Diary of A Vampire.  That being said I am committed to reading them all the way through to the end! So if you are looking for a book or books to read I would definitely recommend them

More about work

Enjoying my days off, 4 in a row, after working 4 days ! , going to take my dogs out for a nice run, they have been so good adjusting to my new work schedule,  taking it all in stride with no complaints.  When I start my early shift I leave at 5:20 am to be at work and ready to start for 6am.  I actually dont mind the early shift as I then get off early and have time to do things before coming home. 
I am still nervous about the job, just so much to learn, I am feeling scared and overwhelmed but I need to cut myself some slack as I haven't worked for 2 years, so I am a bit out of practice!  Wish me luck going forward from here.

Work!

I have my first day down of my new job.  I started a day earlier then expected as someone called in sick, I agreed to do their shift even though it was a full 8 hours.  I bit off more then I could chew on that!  By lunch my feet were in serious pain from standing for so long, my lower back was aching from the hard floors and the constant bending over.  I must have sliced 100 loaves of bread!  There is more then being a bakery clerk then I once thought.  There are so many different types of bread to memorize I am not sure I can do it.  I will give it my best try though and if I am not comfortable with something I will need to say so.  I hope things improve, I know it was just my first day so I am keeping an open mind but worried at the same time

First Birthday

My baby turned 1 year old on January 5th! I can't believe he is a year already, Happy Birthday munchkin!

Colouring

Colouring isnt just for kids anymore!  It has been proven that colouring for adults eases stress , depression and boredom.  I have been colouring for months now and just recently found adult colouring books.  I find they help take my mind away from the fact that I am so bored and lonely and depressed alot. 
I start orientation on Wednesday for my new job so I am hoping I wont have time to colour much anymore!
